Cosmic_Bung
The universe is a very large container. It has a drain. And right now, the bung has come loose.
Derek Bung is a plumber from Burton-on-Trent. He's forty-two, reliable, and very good with pipes. He is not, by any reasonable measure, the kind of person you'd call to save all of existence. And yet, when the Galactic Maintenance Authority rings him on a Tuesday morning to inform him that the universe will drain into the void in seventy-two hours, it turns out he's the only one who can fix it — because somewhere in his bloodline, three hundred years ago, a Bung touched the cosmic bung, and now only a Bung can reseat it.
Armed with his van, his thermos, and his mate Reg (an electrician from Swadlincote who is happy to rearrange his schedule), Derek sets off on the most improbable job of his career.
Cosmic Bung is a comedy of universal proportions — part Douglas Adams, part Terry Pratchett, entirely its own thing — about the quiet dignity of people who show up, do the job, and don't charge a gratitude premium.
