PARALLAX A Novel of Stars and Skin

PARALLAX: A Novel of Stars and Skin (Contains explicit content. 18+ only)

The star does not move. Only the observer changes.

When a structured signal is detected at the fringes of the Veil Nebula — ancient, recursive, and unmistakably intentional — Dr. Lyra Voss is the only scientist alive with the expertise to decode it. The Coalition needs her on a ship heading into deep space. There's just one problem: the ship belongs to Commander Kael Ardyn.

Decorated veteran. Disgraced officer. The kind of man who reads your file before he meets you, and looks at you like he already knows the parts you haven't said out loud.

Lyra hasn't set foot on a vessel in three years — not since her last mission stole her best friend and nearly broke her. Kael hasn't taken a Coalition contract in nearly as long, and for reasons his record refuses to explain. Six months in the dark between stars is a long time to avoid the truth about either of them.

But the signal is waiting. And it has been waiting for a very long time.

Part slow-burn romance, part first-contact thriller, PARALLAX follows two people orbiting each other at a careful distance — until the distance becomes impossible to maintain. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of dying nebulae and ancient mystery, this is a story about what happens when two people who have each survived something they won't name finally have nowhere left to run.

For readers who want their science fiction to ache.
